About Us
Department of Inclusive Education
The Department was formally established through a special presidential decree on November 18, 2018. Its roots, however, trace back to 1999, when it was first launched by the Ministry of Education as a programme under the Ministry’s supervision section. Over the years, its work evolved—first operating under the Education Development Center, and later within the National Institute of Education through a dedicated unit. Today, the Department’s core mandate is to develop and implement education policies for students with special needs, while streamlining the education system in alignment with these policies. Its responsibilities extend to teacher training, providing technical guidance to schools, raising community awareness, and building strategic partnerships with local and international organizations to address challenges across the teaching and learning process.
