Enhancing Teachers’ Capacity for Skill-Based Programs through National Trade Testing Certification Program Commences
The Department of Inclusive Education has launched the “Enhancing Teachers’ Capacity for Skill-Based Programs through National Trade Testing Certification (NTTC)” program. This is an initiative designed to elevate the quality of vocational and skill-based education across the country.
Implemented under the THAIBA initiative as part of STG activity 1.4.3, the program aims to provide targeted technical assistance to existing Inclusive Skills Hubs nationwide. A total of 34 teachers from 26 schools are participating in this week-long national training, representing vocational educators from across the Maldives.
The opening ceremony was graced by State Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed, who highlighted the importance of equipping teachers with industry-aligned competencies to better prepare students for future career pathways.
The training is facilitated by Maldives Polytechnic. Upon successful completion, participants will receive the National Trade Testing Certification, awarded by the Maldives National Skills Development Authority (MNSDA), a nationally recognized standard for professional skills validation.
Vocational education is offered in Maldivian schools in collaboration with the National Institute of Education (NIE).
