Vice President Faisal Naseem has launched ‘Shaamil Adu’, the Maldives’ first-ever screen-reading software.

During today's ceremony, the software was launched.

Javaab Private Limited partnered on the software development.

Javaab Private Limited has prioritized the development of software that will support several of the most accessible platforms for blind children in this regard.

This was a research and development effort that relied heavily on extensive study and discoveries.

The software is available in desktop, Android, and iOS versions.

We're also happy to report that the software has improved the accessibility of the Department of Inclusive Education's website.

Shaamil Adu is an offline application that can be used without access to the internet. On the Android platform, it may also be used as a system TTS service as well as a talkback service.

During the project's user acceptability testing phase, the software was further developed. The software underwent a user acceptance test in collaboration with Aminiya School and the Maldives Blind and Visually Impaired Association.

This is the first time in the Maldives that a screen-reading software has been officially used in the Dhivehi language. The launch of the software marks a significant milestone in the Maldives' educational system.
