DoIE establishes Skills and Innovation Training Center

The Department of Inclusive Education establishes the Skills and Innovation Training Center to train and educate all Maldivian students, including students who have complex learning profiles. Vice President Faisal Naseem officially opened the Center.

According to the Maldives' Education Act, the state is required to provide equal opportunity for students with complex learning profiles without discrimination.

The facility was established to offer vocational education to students with complex learning profiles, in accordance with the Maldivian Education Act's Article 8 goal of providing inclusive education to all pupils. This is the first step in providing vocational education to students with complex learning profiles.

The project's four programs include "kakkavathi," which teaches culinary skills, "Nalavathi," which teaches beauty treatment skills, and "Techvathi," which teaches technological skills training. More programs under this project are also expected to start in the future.

Students will graduate with a Maldives Qualification Authority MQA-approved certificate level 3 certificates. It will also give possibilities for students to actively participate in the development of skills.

Imaduddin School will be the center of the first phase of the revolutionary transformation brought to the Maldivian education system.The Center was made possible thanks to the generosity of private firms and foundations such as Eve Garments and the Atmosphere Foundation.
