The Department conducted a two-day training program titled “Quality Teachers for Inclusion – Meaningful Qur’an Learning for Students with Complex Learning Profiles: Practical Strategies for SEN Teachers” for Special Educational Needs (SEN) teachers from Malé City schools.

The training aimed to strengthen teachers’ knowledge and practical skills in delivering meaningful and accessible Qur’an learning experiences for students with complex learning profiles, taking into consideration their individual abilities and learning needs.

The sessions covered key areas, including setting learning outcomes and goals according to students’ capabilities, teaching Qur’an to students with complex learning profiles, adapting Qur’an teaching strategies for students with speech impairments, and integrating technology into Qur’an learning.

Conducted in collaboration with the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) and the Maldives National University (MNU), the program provided teachers with practical strategies to support diverse learners and promote inclusive approaches to Qur’an education.

More than 35 teachers participated in the training, reaffirming the importance of equipping educators with the knowledge and skills needed to ensure that every student has meaningful opportunities to learn and engage with the Holy Qur’an.
