Department of Inclusive Education has conducted a one-day orientation program for principals of private schools in the Maldives.
The program was inaugurated by the Deputy Minister of Education, Ahmed Mujahid.
Speaking with the participants, Deputy Minister Mujahid noted that the schools play an important role in inspiring the community, hence, it is important that schools be a model to the community by practicing inclusivity.
The orientation program was aimed at creating awareness to the newly revised Inclusive Education Policy of the Maldives. Other important models such as Universal Design for Learning and the Co-Teaching method was thrown light on during the session.
In addition to that, the Department and the principals discussed on activities that could be conducted in collaboration to promote inclusive education in the Maldives.
