IEP Based Lessons in Telikilaas is Under Way

In order to engage students with complex learning profile in learning, the Department of Inclusive Education (DoIE) has been coordinating an Individual Education Plan (IEP) based telikilaas lessons, organised by the Ministry of Education (MoE) starting from 31st May 2020 onwards. Total ten schools from Male’, Addu and Fuvahmulaku City take part in recording and coordinating IEP based lessons with DoIE. These schools are Aminiya School, Imaduddin School, Thaajudhdheen School, Kalaafaanu School, Muhyiddin School, Ghaazee School, Jamaluddin School, Sharafuddin School, S. Atoll School and Haafiz Ahmed School.

The aim of IEP based telikilaas lessons is to make students engage in literacy and numeracy activities apart from giving a focus on supporting students’ functional and life skills, and cover Islamic knowledge in. Each week Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday IEP lessons will be telecasted via Yes TV including one sign language lesson in each Thursday. MoE has planned to continue this programme until the end of November 2020.
