The official ceremony to mark World Autism Awareness Day was held yesterday.
The ceremony was held by Ameeniya School in association with the Department of Inclusive Education and was graced by the presence of the Minister of Education, Dr. Aishath Ali. In addition to that, the technical staff of the department along with the senior management team of Ameeniya School, teachers, students of Ameeniya School’s Inclusive Education Unit – DREAM and their parents took part in the ceremony.
During the ceremony, Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali released the biography book of the DREAM class students – “Aharenge Vanavaru”.
The United Nations marks the World Autism Awareness Day on the 2nd of April every year. The theme for this year’s World Autism Awareness Day is “Inclusion in Workplace: Challenges and Opportunities in a Post-pandemic World.
