Teacher Training on Inclusive Education aimed at relief teachers concludes

Teacher Training on Inclusive Education aimed at relief teachers concludes today.

The 10-day online training program was conducted to share basic inclusive education knowledge with the relief teachers teaching in Maldivian schools.

The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of the Minister of State for Education, Fathimath Naseer.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of State for Education, Fathimath Naseer noted that an established inclusive system is a success for students with complex learning profiles. Hence, one of the main targets of the Ministry of Education is to assign a SEN teacher along with the mainstream teacher for each class and start practicing the co-teaching model in the Maldivian education system. Therefore, such training programs play an essential role.

Speaking with the participants of the training program, the Minister of State for Education advised that the relief teachers practice the information gained and research more on the topics, and provide equal learning opportunities for their students.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of the Department of Inclusive Education, Abdullah Imran said that all relief teachers in the Maldives are now appropriately trained.

Relief teacher Faisal Naseem spoke at the ceremony representing the participants of the training. In his speech, he mentioned, the information gained through the training program will help the teachers find their way in educating students with complex learning profiles.

In the training program, the basics of inclusive education were highlighted. In addition to that, the inclusive education policy, and ways to teach students with complex learning profiles were also thrown light on.

Participants of the training program also got the opportunity to participate in a forum with the leading teachers of inclusive champion schools and share their experiences with them.
