An India grant project to refurbish Inclusive Support Units (ISU) of Fuvahmulaku City, Haafiz Ahmed Schools, and establish an ISU in Kulhudhuffushi City, Afeefuddin School is in progress. The main aim of the project is to upgrade ISU infrastructure, provide necessary resources to increase students’ engagement in learning and to build special education teachers capacity in these two schools.
The project is an initiation from the Ministry of Education and the Department of Inclusive Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the government of India to strengthen and enhance inclusive education in the Maldives. This pivotal project has been approved by the government of India, in December 2019. The duration of the project is January 2020 to June 2021. Haafiz Ahmed School and Afeefuddin School have been working assiduously in collaboration with the Department of Inclusive Education to complete all the components cover under the project.
